The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. Do not use Esomeprazole if you have had an allergic reaction to esomeprazole or other proton pump inhibitor medicines in the past, or if allergic symptoms may be experienced.
Do not use Nexium if you are having kidney or liver transplant surgery. Do not use if you have had an asthma attack or other severe asthma symptoms within the past 14 days or if you are aged 65 years or over. You should also not use if you are having kidney or liver transplant surgery. Use caution in the elderly as data is not always available as they may be suitable for this medication.
Do not use if allergic symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, or there are blood or mucous discharge in your breath. In case of asthma treatment with salbutamol is advised. Salbutamol should be used with caution in the use of Nexium in the elderly as salbutamol should be used with caution in this patient group. This medication may cause serious gastrointestinal (GI) side effects (such as reflux or ulcers). If you present to the g bathroom with these symptoms, stop and get medical help right away. You and your doctor should discuss the risks and benefits of this medication. Warning: this medication may be associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events such as heart failure, heart disease.
